Welcome to the Gateway Bible School website. We’ve been running now since 2003, and it’s been great to see around 50 students come through the school and benefit from the teaching. Our desire simply is to see normal, everyday Christians be equipped to serve God in whatever capacity they are called – be that full time, part time, or anything else. As you will see below, our focus is on the Bible as God’s main source of equipping His people, and every Monday is a great time for fellowship and a building time of relationships to support, encourage and spur on one another to glorify God in our lives. The Course

The school consists of two complementary one year courses, each year starting in September and running for a total of 33 weeks - 3 terms of 11 weeks each. It takes place on the Monday of every week, enabling those who are already in ministry to study in conjunction with their work, as well as anyone else who can set the day aside, whether it be from a secular 9-5 job, from looking after children (we run a crèche during the school) or from anything else – we want the course to be open to as many as possible.

The course content will focus on a variety of subjects including:

• Bible Overview
• System Theology
• Work, Life and Ministry of Christ
• Practical Issues
• Nurture and Discipline
• Exegetical Study and Preparation
• Evangelism
• Cross Cultural Ministry

Our Direction

The Course aim is not just to provide an education but to invest in the lives of the students in more of a mentoring and discipleship situation than just teaching. Our desire is that every student would be:

• Established and secure in their own faith and walk.
• Equipped to minister into the lives of others.

For someone to be able to serve others, it is essential that they are established in their own salvation and faith. We aim to further establish these foundations and provide to solid base to work from 'that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about by every wind of doctrine.' We endeavour to help each student in applying these foundations, that they may be able to equip others in the edification of the body of Christ, and in the ministry of evangelism.

A Unique Training Course

We believe God has led us to provide a unique course. Along with the emphasis on discipleship, those involved in your development will be a team of international mentors with wide ranging cross-cultural experience in ministry. They come from many types of ethnic backgrounds, each bring a unique perspective in ministry. Our approach today needs to be one which is able to respond to our multi-cultural society with the clear claims of the Gospel.

Those who will come alongside you are those who carry the burden of ministry, and not just professional lecturers. We believe it is necessary to have:

NB If you would find it difficult to commit to both years of the course, the two years can stand alone (although they will compliment each other). We would be willing for you to only commit to the first year and for the situation to be reviewed at a later date.
